Our coaches
Romain Carlier. Head Coach
A former competitive player, Romain chose to devote himself to teaching tennis after several years spent on the courts. With extensive experience gained at various clubs, he has supported players of all ages and levels with a rigorous yet caring approach.
Within the club, Romain supervises the youth tennis school groups, adult group lessons, and advanced training courses during school holidays. His personalized approach and infectious energy bring a positive dynamic to the court.
Convinced that tennis is also a school of life, Romain makes it a point to develop his students' technique, as well as their confidence and team spirit. He has already established himself as a valuable asset to the TCFV.

Nicolas Senelle, Head Coach
Originally from Savoie, Nicolas began his career as a competitive player, receiving high-level tennis training. He reached the 1/6 ranking at a young age, winning against teams ranked lower. Having since become a state-certified instructor, Nicolas joined the club in 2008, where he trains young people and adults in tennis and also plays for our teams in interclub championships.
Within the club, Nicolas is particularly responsible for teaching teenagers and oversees competitions for our best young players. He also leads adult group classes and camps during school holidays. He is heavily involved in the life of the TCFV and contributes to making our club ever more welcoming.
Recognized by his peers for the high quality of his teaching, a tireless worker and always smiling, Nico has had the TCFV "under his skin" for almost 20 years and is a key element of our club project.
Pedro Chevroton, Coach
Passionate about tennis and teaching, he decided to make a career change during the summer of 2024. With his tennis instructor diploma in hand and his ranking 15/5 in 2025, he was looking for a motivating club project and his heart chose the TCFV! He is back in the Pays de Gex after having already lived there for more than 6 years. His values: respect, fair play, self-control, dedication, team spirit and conviviality. Seeking to help children and adults progress and to share his passion for this sport in a fun and good-natured way, he is proud to join the TCFV management team to harmoniously lead the life of the club and contribute to the well-being of its members.

Sofiane Choulak, Assistant Coach
A lifelong tennis enthusiast, ranked 15/1 in 2023, I enjoy pushing myself on the court as much as sharing this passion with others. For me, the most important thing is that we feel good and happy while playing, regardless of the level, while improving and surpassing ourselves in each session. What I enjoy most is passing on my knowledge and helping others progress, while creating a playing environment based on fun, kindness, and respect. This year I am taking the tennis instructor training course with the league.
Matthieu Théard, Assistant Coach
Passionate about tennis and committed to teaching, I dedicate my energy to the technical, tactical, and mental development of each player. I am currently training with the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Tennis League to become a certified tennis instructor (Professional Qualification Certificate for Tennis Instructors "CQP ET"). For me, tennis is much more than a sport: it is a school of discipline, perseverance, and personal growth.
My teaching philosophy is based on continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence. I encourage my students to actively reflect on their progress, identify areas for improvement, and strive for meaningful results—beyond performance indicators alone. My goal is to build a motivating and supportive learning environment where everyone can reach their full potential.
